A shooting incident took place on Monday, 15 October at around 12.30pm in the parking lot of McDonalds Ermelo.
According to Capt Carla Prinsloo, spokesperson for Ermelo Police, reports alleged that a suspect broke into a vehicle, but was confronted by the owner who was inside the restaurant.
The owner fired shots as the suspect fled the scene in a white Toyota Fortuner with no number plates. A vehicle in the parking lot was also hit by a bullet.
“According to the owner, the suspect fired shots back at him.” said Capt Prinsloo.
A female passenger in a bus across the street was grazed by a stray bullet.
