
A man was arrested and charged for dealing marijuana at around 11pm on Friday, 26 October in Mayflower.
The man got an additional charge for failing to produce his passport as he is a foreign national.
According to Mayflower Police spokesman, Const Tryphina Utla, the 18-year-old suspect was found by Waverly Port of Entry Police at the Waverly and Glenmore road.
“The police were busy conducting a routine stop-and-search operation when they stopped the suspect and requested to search his vehicle,” Const Utla said.
The constable added that a black sports bag containing a black plastic bag with the drug was found.
“Marijuana weighing 0.88 gram with the street value of R2 000 was confiscated.”
The suspect, who explained to police he is selling the marijuana, said he is from Lundzi in Swaziland, however, he had no legal documentation of citizenship.
