Community members stand together to bring road conditions in Ermelo to a better state

In addition to being a main road for three schools in the area, Hosterweg is also the main entrance to the town for New Ermelo residents.

ERMELO – Members of the community, along with ACDP councillor, Mr JJ Scholtz, decided to work closely with Msukaligwa Local Municipality (MLM) to improve Ermelo’s road conditions.

Ms Mahlalela, the executive mayor of MLM, and Cllr Zulu, the director of technical services, met with residents to address the issue in Hosterweg.

Numerous trucks seem to be using the roads at night, according to some of these residents.

In addition to being a main road for three schools in the area, Hosterweg is also the main entrance to the town for New Ermelo residents.

As a resident who attended the meeting suggested, the traffic department could also play a pivotal role.

According to the resident, they can patrol the roads after 17:00, typically when truck drivers take breaks driving between towns.
