Water crisis looming in Ermelo if load shedding continues

According to Mr Zwane, this will unfortunately continue until load shedding is ceased.

A water crisis might be imminent if load shedding goes on for too long.

This is the view of Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman of the Msukaligwa Municipality.

“Our water purification plant at Douglas Dam was unable to function effectively due to power interruptions from recent cable theft, as well as load shedding,” he told the Highvelder.

Consequently, the airport and Ithafa reservoirs have experienced a drop in water levels.

According to Mr Zwane, this will unfortunately continue until load shedding is ceased.

“Residents are urged to bear with us until things stabilise again,” he said.

In conclusion he stated that water tankers will provide assistance as required.
