Msukaligwa Municipality appoints new acting municipal manager

Mr Zwane added that the position for acting municipal manager had been advertised in the national newspapers as required by the regulation.

ERMELO – Msukaligwa Local Municipality (MLM) has appointed Mr Canzi Jabez Lisa as its new acting municipal manager on February 28.

According to Mr Mandla Zwane, the spokesman for the municipality, Mr Lisa is not new in this position, as he had been a municipal manager for Bushbuckridge Local Municipality.

“He was assigned by the MEC for cooperative governance and traditional affairs to act as municipal manager after a request by MLM,” Mr Zwane said.

Mr Zwane added that the position for acting municipal manager had been advertised in the national newspapers as required by the regulation.

Mr Lisa completed his bachelor of arts degree, a higher diploma in development planning and master’s of science in development planning at the University of Witwatersrand.

He further enrolled for additional courses in project management for built environmental professionals with BPR Project Management.

He also has a programme certificate in infrastructure planning partnership for local government with Harvard University, a certificate in procurement and contract management with the University of Pretoria, and a certificate in municipal financial management with the Southern African Institute of Learning.

“Mr Lisa was a personnel researcher at Wits Graduate School of Public Development Management, a public-private partnership convenor, a council property manager and a coordinator for social development all with the City of Johannesburg,” Mr Zwane said.
