Gert Sibande District Municipality whip of council passes away

Mr Nkosi previously served as a regional secretary, chairperson, Mpumalanga deputy chairperson and deputy secretary for the ANC Youth League in Gert Sibande.

ERMELO – Gert Sibande District Municipality (GSDM) whip and councillor, Mr Trevor Nkosi, passed away in the early hours of May 28.

According to information provided, Mr Nkosi died following a long battle with an illness.

Mr Nkosi previously served as a regional secretary, chairperson, Mpumalanga deputy chairperson and deputy secretary for the ANC Youth League in Gert Sibande.

He was known for his focus on youth development within Gert Sibande.

Speaking on behalf of the council, the GSDM speaker, Cllr Busisiwe Sikhonde, expressed her disbelief and condolences at the passing of Mr Nkosi.

“GSDM and the ANC are proud to have had an individual of his calibre within the institution whose passion for the youth was never downplayed,” Ms Sekhonde said.

“GSDM leadership and staff personnel send their messages of support, condolences and strength to the Nkosi family during this time of bereavement. May his soul forever rest in peace.”
