Sassa releases 2026/27 grant payment schedule

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has published its annual payment schedule for the 2026/27 financial year.

The schedule details payment dates for older persons, disability and children’s grants from April 2026 through to March 2027.

Payments are staggered over consecutive days each month, starting with older persons, followed by disability grant recipients, and then children’s grants.

According to the schedule, payments for May 2026 will begin on 5 May for older persons, followed by 6 May for disability grants and 7 May for children’s grants.

Similar patterns continue throughout the year, with payments generally taking place within the first week of each month.
