GALLERY: Fashion show raises funds for Hospice
Models and musos raise funds for Hospice at Musketeers Restaurant.
HIGHWAY Hospice held a ‘Models and Music’ fundraiser at Musketeers Restaurant in Westville on Saturday, 16 May.
According to Shirley Emanuel, the event organiser, although the sale of tickets was not as high as she expected, she said she had every reason to be happy with the success of ‘Models and Music’, which is the second fashion show and live entertainment fundraiser held in aid of Highway Hospice.
“I am most grateful to all those who were part of that success. Charming models, talented and well-known vocalists, the local restaurant for use of their facility, and local businesses which donated generously towards expenses and prizes,” said Emanuel.
The fashion show started at 5pm, followed by a scrumptious three-course dinner and then a musical show at 7pm.
Forty-one of the 60 mostly ‘once worn’ formal dresses were shown on the night, and eight were sold. There are still many lovely dresses available at prices well below cost, all for sale in aid of charity. If there is anybody who wishes to view the remaining dresses, please contact Shirley on 082 343 6971 or 031 267 0682.
