Tough but rewarding experience for IsiZulu speakers.

Kloof High's top two Zulu learners gave their all.

IT was a tough but rewarding experience for Kloof High School’s top two Zulu students, Aphiwe Sosiba and Luthando Ncube who participated in the first ever IsiZulu Best Speaker Competition.

They were each given a topic to research and then to present a speech on it. Aphiwe spoke on “Zulus Go Back to Your Culture” and Luthando’s topic was “Decisions”.

It was a new and tough experience but both learners gave it their all. Aphiwe was selected to go through to the second round where he was given two minutes to prepare a speech with the title “Ubuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu” (A Person is a Person only with the Help of Others). He received third place out of 13 speakers.

“It was an amazing experience which I would recommend for any Grade 11 to tackle head on,” said Aphiwe.
