Highbury Haven’s restorations completed

Renovations to the Kloof and Highway SPCA's farmyard, known as the Highbury Haven, have been completed.

AFTER months of fundraising and construction work, the newly renovated farmyard at the Kloof and Highway SPCA, fondly known as the Highbury Haven, was officially opened on Saturday 8 March.

Parents, staff and pupils of Highbury Preparatory School donated time, various items and funds towards the restoration of the old farmyard that was not functional. The duck pond was leaking, there was no place for the chickens to roost and the fence was falling down.

The project was initiated in November 2013 and was recently completed.

“It was amazing to see how parents, staff and pupils donated their time and money towards this project,” said Belinda Willows, Highbury Preparatory School’s head of foundation phase.
