Robbers hit dogs with pepper spray while robbing owners.
FOUR men who robbed a house in the Nirvana Hills area in Mulberry Park abandoned their getaway car on the M7 with some of the goods still inside.
Malvern SAPS communications officer, W/O Radhika Marimuthu said on Wednesday 16 April, a domestic worker opened the gates to hang the washing when she was approached by two armed men who pushed her back into the house.
“The robbers sprayed the dogs with pepper spray, ransacked the house and fled in a gold Toyota Corolla with a laptop, flat screen TV, DVD player and other household items .
“Members of the Malvern SAPS crime prevention unit responded to the call and immediately began to search the area for the car.
‘The car was spotted on the M7 and when police reached the car, the robbers had abandoned it with some of the stolen goods still inside.
“It was discovered that the car was stolen in Chatsworth, a few day before the robbery,” said Marimuthu.
