One dead in Queensmead factory fire

Unidentified person burnt beyond recognition in factory fire.

Further investigation revealed that it was actually a wendy house that served as the security guards office that caught fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.

According to owner of JB Motors, Andrew Chetty, it is believed the security guard and the deceased had been socialising earlier in the night when the wendy hut caught fire.

“The deceased man was not my employee. I believe he may be friends with my security guard, other than that I cannot advocate his presence on my property. Timothy (security guard) is the only one who can explain his presence and right now he can not do that as he can barely speak yet and is still being treated for smoke inhalation.”

The deceased is yet to be identified as he was burnt beyond recognition and Malvern SAPS continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
