Glamorous ball raises funds

The pupils at Kloof High School raised more than R50 000 which will be used to improve the facilities at the school.

THE Kloof High School Debutantes and Squires for this year attended the annual ball held in the school hall.

The event is highly anticipated and weeks are spent on planning the outfits that are worn, especially the debutantes who wear traditional white. The squires weren’t to be outdone and certainly did themselves proud.

The fundraising event started six years ago with the aspiring Debs and Squires starting to raise funds in Grade 9. In their Grade 10 year the results are announced and the winners are crowned at the ball. The 2014 group raised in excess of R54 000 which will be used to improve facilities at the school and a portion is also donated to charities.

This year St Martin’s Childrens’ Home and Open Door Crisis Centre were the chosen beneficiaries.

The winners for 2014 were Megan Moffett, (Debutante), Teegan Coulonval, (Squire), Tamarind Digges, (runner-up), and Michael Thompson, (runner-up).
