School expo heads for Pinetown
If you are interested in, or are currently doing homeschooling, this expo is the perfect place to be on Saturday 18 October.

THE KwaZulu-Natal Homeschool Association will host its annual Homeschool Expo at the Red Point Church, 90 7th Avenue Pinetown. Saturday 18 October from 9am to 4pm
This year there will be many curriculum providers who will exhibit their materials and services which cover the complete spectrum from art to high level mathematics and science. There are single products to help with particular subject areas and there are complete packaged curriculum for every grade from Pre-School to matric or A Levels.
“We will have a few well known guest speakers, where parents can hear educational talks on various homeschool topics. The speakers this year are Dr Jay Wile from the USA. He has a PHD in nuclear chemistry and is an author of a science curriculum called Science in the Beginning,” said Brigitte Richard Coombes, a home schooling mother.
The other speaker is Marc Reis from Love2Learn in Johannesburg who will give a talk on Staying the Journey. There will also be a children’s entrepreneur market and food stalls available which make it a fun day for the whole family.
“All parents are “home school parents” as parents are the first teachers of their children and the family is the first school. Education outside of the home is an extension of the parental role. Some choose to share that educational mission with others outside their home. Whether you homeschool, tutor, or your children attend public or private school, you will want to attend this expo if you have an interest in your children’s education,” said Brigitte Richard Coombes.
The entrance fee is R20 per family.
