New Germany robber sentenced to 28 years
Justice was served when a robber was convicted to 28 years.

Pinetown Regional Court convicted and sentenced Sthembiso Nkwanyana (31) to 28 years for armed robbery and attempted murder.
On 18 November 2013 at about 10.30am the construction workers were on duty along Nipper Road in New Germany when they were approached by four suspects, one in possession of a firearm. The firearm was pointed at the workers and two shots were fired at them but no one was injured.
The suspects fled on foot with construction tools to the value of R35000.
Police responded to the complaint and Nkwanyana was arrested next to the river in Clermont where he was hiding. A 9mm pistol and four rounds of ammunition was found in his possession and he was also charged for unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition. All the tools that were taken during the robbery were recovered.
He later appeared in court and was denied bail. After making several appearances in court the accused was subsequently convicted.
