Four stolen cars recovered in Inchanga

A joint operation between the Pinetown Crime Intelligence Unit and Inchanga detectives led to the recovery of four stolen vehicles.

A 23-YEAR-old man will appear again in court on Monday, 9 February on charges of theft of motor vehicles and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele, said the man was arrested in Inchanga after an operation that was conducted by the Pinetown Crime Intelligence Unit and Inchanga detectives.

“During the operation a suspect was arrested and found in possession of a .22 rifle. He also led police to areas where four cars were recovered. It is alleged that the cars were stolen between December 2014 and the beginning of January 2015 in the Inchanga area.

“The suspect has been linked to all these cases,” said Manqele.
