16 injured in Edwin Swales taxi accident
Two vehicles were involved in an accident close to Sarnia Road this morning.

TRAFFIC came to a halt on the on-ramp from Edwin Swales to Sarnia Road after a taxi was T-boned before overturning, coming to rest on its side. Two taxi commuters sustained serious injuries while 14 others suffered minor wounds just before 7am this morning. Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find the taxi on its side with all the passengers lying on the side of the road.
More ambulances were dispatched to assist in the multiple injury scene. The two critically injured passengers were stabilized on the scene. The driver of the other vehicle had also sustained minor injuries. After all the injured passengers were stabilised, they were transported to various Durban hospitals for further medical care.
It is unclear what caused the collision, however, the police were on the scene investigating further.
