Domestic worker tied up during house robbery

Police's quick response led to the arrest of two alleged robbers in the Pinetown CBD.

TWO men, aged 27 and 28, appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 5 August for a house robbery that took place in Pinetown.

Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele, said it is alleged that on Monday, 3 August at 1.30pm, the two men entered a house in Vivien Road and tied up the domestic worker.

“They stole two tablets, takkies and other items, then they fled the scene on foot,” he said.

Police responded to the complaint and were given the description of the alleged robbers and the clothes they were wearing.

“Police searched for the two men in the Pinetown area and they were arrested in the Pinetown CBD. Some of the items that were stolen during the house robbery were recovered.”

The two men were remanded into custody until Wednesday, 12 August for further investigation.
