
ANOTHER Westville North resident was shot on Sunday morning in his home in Alistair Road.
This incident happened a few days after Gordon Donaldson, who lived in Gardenia Place, was murdered during a home invasion. Westville SAPS communications officer, Cpt Elizabeth Squires, said the complainant was awoken by barking and growling dogs.
“The victim went to investigate and took his firearm with. The victim saw two unknown men inside the kitchen.” Squires said the victim shouted at them, telling them to get out of his house.
”The two men shot the victim twice and he was taken to hospital by an ambulance,” she said.
The two men were armed with guns and managed to flee the scene with the victim’s firearm as well as electronic equipment. A case of house robbery was opened at Westville SAPS and no arrests have been made.
“Detectives are following up all leads and working around the clock to ensure the suspects are arrested,” added Squires.
