Comrades fever brings Cygnet to their feet

Learners donated a pair of shoes which were handed over to Vukukhanye charity in Chesterville.

CYGNET Preparatory School learners got into the spirit of the Comrades Marathon and dressed up in their best running gear to participate in mini-marathons organised by the school staff.

The school and Westville residents also embraced the spirit of giving, associated with the Comrades Marathon, as each child who dressed up donated a pair of shoes to be used by the Vukukhanye charity in impoverished areas of Chesterville.

Principal of the Cygnet Preparatory, Warick Middleton, said the Comrades is not only a proudly KZN event but also proudly South African one.

“It is fitting that our children enter into the spirit of sportsmanship and generosity associated with this world class event,” he said.
