Ashley deejay is in-tune with his passion

Tsepo 'DJ Naterdeep' Mcineka is passionate about all kinds of music.

IT is not easy to break into the entertainment industry, but Ashley’s young up-and-coming deejay does not let people discourage him and his dreams.

Tsepo ‘DJ Naterdeep’ Mcineka’s passion for music was sparked from an early age as he was surrounded by family members who loved music.

When Tsepo finished his matric, he did a course in sound engineering/music production to learn more about the programmes used to produce music and familiarise himself with the industry.

He said he listens to all kinds of music but specialises in deep house music.

“I have always loved music and I listen to all kinds of genres. At the moment I deejay mostly on the weekends as I have a full time job during the week.

“Most families are not always happy or supportive when a child gets into this industry as they do not think they can make a living. But I truly believe that education is important as it can open doors for you even in this industry,” he said.

Tsepo said the biggest challenge in the deejay industry is for people to acknowledge you.

“Sometimes no matter how hard you work or how good you are, if you have not made a name for yourself, other promoters do not give you a chance,” he said.

Perseverance has rewarded him a title of a resident DJ at a club in Caversham.

He has also played in many clubs around Durban and has also played along big names such as, DJ Bongz, Andy X, Destruction Boyz and DJ Ntukza.

The 22-year-old also has a clothing logo, called Pitch-Cue-Play.
