Nativity scene returns to Westville
This year, Durban West Community Tourism Organisation along with the Rotary Club of Westville decided to help Cannon Cool Car Airconditioning to sponsor the event.
WESTVILLE residents rekindled the Christmas spirit by joining hands in repairing the old Westville Nativity props to again create the beautiful set up in central Westville for all to enjoy.
Westville resident, Helen Cannon, who works at Cannon Cool Car Airconditioning, the original sponsor of the Westville Nativity scene started this community project 12 years ago.
However, storage facilities for the mannequins had become a huge issue a few years ago and unfortunately Helen wasn’t able to set the nativity scene for the past couple of years.

This year, Durban West Community Tourism Organisation along with the Rotary Club of Westville decided to help Cannon Cool Car Airconditioning to sponsor the event.
Many other businesses also played a huge role in making sure the mannequins were repaired and in good condition for display.
Helen thanked all those who assisted in making this event a huge success and urged the community, if they haven’t already done so, to come to the intersection of St James Avenue and Buckingham Terrace (at the junction entrance to the Westville Civic Centre) to view this iconic scene.
