Kloof High’s vehicles recovered after armed robbery

The two vehicles were stolen from the school this morning and were recovered hours later in Ntuzuma.

TWO of Kloof High School’s vehicles were recovered a few hours after they were stolen by three armed men this morning (3 March).

According to Steven King of South African Community Crime Watch (SACCW) the robbery happened at just after 6am.

“Three suspects, armed with hand guns, arrived in a silver Chevy Spark hatch back.

“They cut open the pedestrian gate using a bolt cutter and accosted the guard on duty,” said King.

The guard was assaulted, tied up, blind folded and his cellphone was taken.

The armed men hot-wired the school’s two Quantum vehicles.

“The guard freed himself and raised the alarm via the LAD Security Guard Control, who in turn notified Saps 10111 Radio Control, Enforce and  LAD Armed Response,” said King.

Trackers SA was also notified and both vehicles were recovered in Ntumzuma.

“The guard was shaken, but no serious injuries as a result of the attack,” said King.

Kloof High School’s Piet Lötter said the vehicles may have been recovered but was told the men had ‘wrecked’ the interiors of the vehicles while searching for the trackers.

“We are just so thankful to LAD, Tracker and the SAPS for their speedy response to the incident,” said Lötter.
