Durban foundation makes big impact

The foundation also collect sanitary pads and cosmetics for needy young girls.

WITH the winter season around the corner, Big Sister Little Foundation has taken upon itself to help needy children in schools.

On 16 May 2019, the foundation visited Umthombomuhle Intermediate School in Cliffdale.

When a call for assistance was made by the local foundation, Woolworths Westwood, Head Office and generous individuals answered making it possible for the foundation to donate school shoes to 50 boys and girls who were identified as needy and indigent.

“It was a day of jovial moments for recipients and their teachers. They expressed their sincere gratitude,” said Big Sister Little Foundation founder, Swazi Kubeka.

The foundation also collect sanitary pads and cosmetics for needy young girls.

“We plead with corporates, the business sector and government to help the foundation for us to reach more children in need, especially this cold season of the year and to ensure that our children don’t miss a day of school,” she added.

Big Sister Little Foundation is a registered NGO based in Durban and founded by Swazi Kubeka, the organisation that aims to educate, motivate, inspire, change lives, encourage, support and mentor young girls in underprivileged areas.
