Man (38) arrested for Georgedale house robbery

Two other suspects are still at large.

MPUMALANGA police are searching for two men after arresting one suspect for house robbery in Georgedale near Hammarsdale.

According to Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele, three suspects broke into a house on Saturday, 31 July.

“It is alleged three armed suspects stormed into a house in the Georgedale area. The suspects demanded a firearm from the victim (46). He was allegedly assaulted.

“The robbers ransacked the victim’s home and stole three cellphones,” said Manqele.

Police were alerted and one suspect was arrested and the stolen cellphones were recovered and were positively identified by the victim. The suspect was charged for house robbery.

The arrested suspect appeared in the Mpumalanga Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 2 August.
