GRACE Daley is Westville Senior Primary School’s SPAR Star of the Month.
The Grade 7 learner is a popular, friendly and polite young girl who challenges herself to excel at academics, sport and cultural activities too.
Grace was elected by her peers as the house captain, swimming captain and athletics captain this year. She won the Victrix Ludorum trophy at the school’s inter-house swimming gala and the inter-house athletics events, as she accumulated the most points during each of these competitions. It is a very rare achievement for a learner to be awarded the trophy for excellence in both disciplines.
Grace is also the school’s cross-country captain. She attends dance classes and featured in one of the leading roles in the school’s annual drama production this month. She also plays softball and both indoor and outdoor netball at a provincial level.
It comes as no surprise that her favourite school subject is physical education. Grace is an animal lover and her family has several pets. When she finishes school, she hopes to study veterinary sciences while simultaneously achieving her goal to proudly represent South Africa as a triathlete at an international level.
