#WeCareUKZN campaign: University management appeals for support

The management launched this campaign to raise funds and enable financially disadvantaged students to register by the closing date, Friday, 6 March 2020.

University management has made concessions to assist students by reducing the amount payable prior to registration, to a minimum of 15 per cent.

“However, for many of our students, raising even this minimum fee is near impossible. We have launched this fundraising initiative to ensure that no academically sound student is left behind. We want to do all we can to raise funds and enable financially disadvantaged students to register by the closing date, Friday, 6 March,” said management.

The management said they are appealing to corporates, philanthropic foundations, trusts, alumni, staff and the public at large to contribute to this worthy cause.

UKZN Foundation – the fundraising arm of the university, will email an acknowledgement and Tax Certificate to all contributors.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
