Pinetown man shot in abdomen during hijacking
The man was treated on scene by paramedics and taken to RK Khan Hospital.
A 35-YEAR-OLD man was shot and wounded in a hijacking on Josiah Gumede (Old Main) Road last night.
According to Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson, the man was in a serious condition as he was shot in the abdomen.
“Advanced life support paramedics worked on the man to stabilise him before he was rushed to a nearby hospital,” said Jamieson.
The communications officer for Pinetown SAPS, Captain Bongumusa Manqele noted the stolen vehicle was recovered.

“Police are investigating a case of carjacking and no arrests have been made,” he said.
Manqele stated this incident is not related to the drive-by shooting on Monday evening where a 37-year-old was shot and killed.
