Man nabbed with unlicensed gun in Nazareth, Pinetown

The man was spotted by police walking along Hlongwa Road on Wednesday night.

POLICE arrested a 24-year-old man on Wednesday, 1 April for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Nazareth, just outside Pinetown.

According to Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele members of the eThekwini Inner and Outer Rapid Response Unit were patrolling the Nazareth area when they spotted a suspicious looking man walking along Hlongwa Road.

“Upon searching him police found a pistol with one round of ammunition. The suspect was arrested and charged for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition,” said Manqele.
