‘No mask means no entry’ warns Shongweni Farmers and Craft Market
Come rain or shine, the market will be open each Saturday between 6.30am to 12.30pm from Saturday, 5 September and families, along with their pets, are invited.
AS Durbanites ready themselves for the return of the popular shopping spot on Saturday, 5 September, event organisers have cautioned visitors to adhere to all Covid-19 protocols upon entering the Shongweni Farmers and Craft Market.
“We have been anticipating this day for quite some time now. For tomorrow to be a success, we are urging the public to abide by these rules to keep our market community safe. We are all responsible for each other. If you are not comfortable coming, please rather wait a while before you do – we would never want you to feel anything but goodness while with us,” said the market administrator, Donnee Standeaven.

Trading times are the same as usual and numbers will not be limited.
The market’s rules during Covid-19 include: maintaining a 1.5m distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing; washing your hands frequently; avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth and products and your mask must cover your mouth and nose, with no gaps between your face and the mask.
“If you can be anything at all, please be kind and patient while we get our market back on its feet,” said Standeaven.
