One seriously injured in Kloof substation explosion
It is believed three workers were doing maintenance work on the electrical substation when it exploded.

ONE worker sustained serious injuries when a Kloof substation exploded just after 11am today.
Advanced life paramedic, Garrith Jamieson said KZN VIP Medical Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that workers had been doing maintenance on an electrical substation when it exploded.

Jamieson said the critically injured worker was rushed to the hospital prior to the arrival of the paramedics.
“Two other workers sustained minor to moderate injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to hospital,” said Jamieson.
He added the events leading up to the explosion are unknown at this stage.
