Two arrested for Pinetown hijacking, car recovered
The car, a Ford Ranger, was recovered on the same day in Otto Volek Road.
PINETOWN police arrested two men, aged 25 and 42 for a hijacking that happened on April 19 in Pinetown.
Captain Bongumusa Manqele, Pinetown Cluster communications officer, said it is alleged that the victim, a driver of a Ford Ranger (30) was offloading vehicle parts at a company on Blair Road when he saw a silver VW Jetta vehicle with an unknown registration.

“Three armed suspects approached him and they demanded the bakkie at gunpoint. The suspects loaded the vehicle parts back into the bakkie before fleeing the scene towards Otto Volek Road.
“Later on the day, police spotted the hijacked vehicle on Otto Volek Road. The suspect was placed under arrest. Preliminary investigation by police led to the arrest of the second suspect who came to the scene and when police searched his vehicle, some vehicle parts that were stripped from the Ford Ranger were found in his vehicle,” said Manqele.
The suspects appeared in court and were remanded in custody.
