Westville police search for cellphone-shop robbers

It was reported that shots were fired, but fortunately, no one was injured.

WESTVILLE police have opened a case of business robbery following an armed robbery that took place at a cellphone shop in Westville yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, November 15.

Westville SAPS communications officer Captain Elizabeth Squires said four men entered the cellphone shop and forced the employees into the back of the shop.

“They demanded all the cellphones and left the shop. Upon leaving, they forced open the boom gate and fired shots, damaging vehicles. Nobody was injured,” reported Squires.

Westville Mall put up a Facebook post confirming the incident.

In the post, it read that Westville Mall will be co-operating with SAPS in the investigation.

They urged anyone who witnessed suspicious activity to report it to the mall security or management.
