Dion Ross from Maxed Elite was the men’s winner in the 42.2km marathon while 2018 Comrades winner Ann Ashworth was the winner of the ladies’ race.

In the 21.1km half-marathon, first home in the men’s race was Sphamandla Nkosi of Xcel Running Club. The ladies’ race was won by 2022 Comrades gold medallist Janie Grundling.

Runners on the day were kept well hydrated with a number of refreshment stations hosted by very vocal and supportive volunteers from local companies and organisations. There were also many local residents out on the route supporting the runners.

“Hillcrest Villagers would like to thank all the volunteers, runners and supporters who made the event a success,” said Warren Kidgell, Hillcrest Villagers’ chairman.
