Store group donates to cerebral palsy community

Boxer Superstores appealed to other local businesses to get on board and lend a hand.

THE KZN Cerebral Palsy Association is grateful for a generous donation from Boxer Superstores.

The association was founded in 1969 in order to provide support services and care to the cerebral-palsied community. The purpose of the association is to cater for the needs of those living with cerebral palsy, and to create awareness in communities and society, as a whole, about the disability and about the people who live with it.

Boxer Superstores, who have several stores in Pinetown and a head office in Westville, have partnered with Feed the Nation to help the association with much-needed upgrades and assistance.

“After a positive meeting and handover of funds and groceries last year, Boxer returned recently, donating money and toiletry hampers to the association.

“We are proud to be able to support the KZN Cerebral Palsy Association, and we hope that other local businesses are able to get on board and lend a hand. Our communities are the most important aspect of what we do, so when we get the opportunity to help those in need, we do our best,” said Busile Makhanya, Boxer CSR manager.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
