Adding a twist on traditional Easter recipes

These out-of-the-ordinary recipes will make perfect additions to your traditional Easter menu. We assure you that every 'bunny' will wish Easter was every day.

WHEN we think of Easter dishes and goodies, lamb, hot cross buns, Easter eggs and pickled fish come to mind.

Some families, however, have gotten creative in the kitchen and cooked up their own recipes which have turned into firm favourites in their families, such as Easter French toast.

A TikTok creator swears by this recipe and says her family loves it. She basically just sandwiches two marshmallow Easter eggs in between bread and dips it in an egg mixture and toasts it. Easy and yummy!

Turn a sweet treat into a savoury meal with . . . wait for it . . . cheeseburger hot cross buns! It incorporates all the ingredients you would use for a traditional cheeseburger, the only difference being that the buns are actually hot cross buns. And, it’s made in an air fryer.

An Easter-inspired lemon cheesecake will certainly hit the sweet-and-tangy spot. It incorporates a cheesecake recipe, but the cheesecake is deconstructed and then layered into individual glasses and topped with broken speckled eggs. Definitely worth a try.
