Police search for missing Pinetown matric learner

Owethu Liyabona Maphalala was last seen on Wednesday evening.

UPDATE: Owethu Liyabona Maphalala has been found.

PINETOWN police are appealing to the public to help find missing Owethu Liyabona Maphalala (18).

According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Jennifer Naidu, the Pinetown Boys’ High School matric learner was last seen on Wednesday evening (September 3).

Naidu reported that according to his mother, Owethu resides in Caversham and was last seen at approximately 18:30 after an incident at the school.

“He was wearing a navy golf T-shirt, grey pants, and white Adidas sneakers at the time of his disappearance,” said Naidu.

Anyone who can assist in finding Owethu can contact the investigating officer, Constable Zulu, on 072 597 3892.
