The truck and a the car collided on the M7 claiming two lives

A MAN in his 60s and a woman her 40s have sustained fatal injuries in a horrific crash on the M7 Pinetown bound before the N2 bridge leaving the Bluff on Sunday morning (January 25).

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said paramedics arrived on the scene to find chaos and carnage as they found that a truck and a light motor vehicle had collided before both left the road.

The eThekwini Fire Department were dispatched to assist while paramedics made their way down to the wrecked vehicles.

“Paramedics found the light motor vehicle on its roof with two people entrapped inside. Paramedics and fire fighters worked to gain entry into the vehicle and found a male in his sixties and a female in her forties who had sustained fatal injuries and unfortunately there was nothing

“Paramedics could do for them and they were declared deceased on the scene.”

He added that the truck driver and passenger were found down an embankment, and a rope rescue system had to be set up to get the patients up to the roadside.

“Advanced Life Support Paramedics stabilised both of them on scene before they were taken to a nearby hospital.”
