Unlock new opportunities with counselling course
The Open Door Crisis Care Centre urges residents to sign up for its lay counselling course which teaches basic counselling skills.
THE Open Door Crisis Care Centre’s lay counselling eight-week course starts on Saturday, February 7.
This course is a must for lay counsellors, neighbourhood watch volunteers, educators and community workers who are involved with men, women and children who are facing challenges in homes, schools, or anyone wishing to improve their own life skills in dealing with conflict, work and social-related problems.
The course offers psychology students hands-on training and is recommended by lecturers in various universities and colleges. The course is aligned to SAQA standards.

The course teaches participants basic counselling skills, dealing with conflict, addressing social issues of rape, domestic violence, child abuse as well as training on the various Acts and Bills, including Sexual Offences Act, Domestic Violence Bill, Children’s Act, and Trafficking in Persons Act. In excess of 5000 men and women have undergone life-changing experiences through this course.
