Local businessman builds home for gogo

A local leader in the Shongweni Dam area says it is hoped that other businesspeople could do the same by helping others.

ASPIRING entrepreneur Sthembiso Nicholas Wanda donated a house to an elderly resident at Mlaza in Shongweni Dam on Friday, May 1.

Thandi Sokhulu, the recipient of the house, was elated when the keys to her brand new home were handed over by businessman Wanda, who runs a building blocks manufacturing company in the area.

“When I moved into the area and looked around to see how I could extend a helping hand, I decided to build a beautiful home for gogo Mthiyane,” said Wanda.

The area’s chief, Sangoma Ndlovu, who attended the house handover on Friday, applauded Wanda for his act of generosity.

“We wish other businesspeople in our area could learn from Mr Wanda and think about how we as a community can help each other,” said Ndlovu.
