Quick, creative ways to revamp your bedroom
A
lthough it’s the one place where we spend a lot of time, the bedroom can often be neglected when it comes to style. This is mainly because it’s out of sight from visitors and because it only forms part of our daily routine of sleeping and getting ready in the morning. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Here are some great, budget friendly and effortless ideas to spruce up your room, turning it into a relaxing, beautiful haven that you may never want to leave.
ADD INTEREST TO YOUR WALLS
Walls looking a bit tired? Rather than painting an entire wall (which can be a hassle), stencil metallic or textured paint in stripes, squares or circles onto a neutral-coloured base to add drama and shimmer. Easily done in a weekend!
COOL COLOURS
If you love simple white walls, pale mint is a step forward. It brings colour to a space without making it feel smaller or darker, and has an amazing power to brighten gloomy rooms or cool down sunny ones.
UPDATE YOUR LINEN
Swapping an old bed set for something fresh can give your room a whole new personality. If you already have a pattern on your wall, go for something simple and chic to make sure the room doesn’t become too busy.
HANG IT UP
Save on floor space and hang a small shelf or cube by the bedside instead. Either attach it using shelf brackets for the cube to rest on, or go for hidden hardware to give the illusion that the shelf is floating on the wall.
PERFECT PICTURE
For a sophisticated finish, choose simple monochrome art work to display above your bed. Play with size, orientation and placement to create a stylish collection of prints. Odd numbers work best, so go for three, five or seven pictures in a cluster.
