Members show off strength at Winter Games
Members of the NPO made and broke many of their personal records they made at last year's games.
IT was a morning of fun and competition at Headway-Natal’s annual Winter Games, held at the Roy Couzens field in Westville.
Thirty two members from the NPO took part in the auspicious event. “At Headway-Natal we work at a slow pace when it comes to rehabilitation but on the day of the games, the competitive nature really comes out. Without even thinking about it, they all subconsciously try and better their scores from the previous year,” said Ian Vowles, manager of Headway-Natal.
On top of the many various activities on offer, from bowls, to ball kick, track and flip-catch, there was a sumptuous braai at lunch time and a muffin and a donated bottle of Aquelle water for each of the people who attended the event. Each of the participants received a certificate and a medal for their hard work and determination.
