Warm up with mulberry
Rich, strong and inviting, mulberry is a big interior hit this winter, and it’s easy to see why interior designers have embraced this moody, plum purple shade. We share some ways of introducing this rich hue into your homes.

Introduce nature
This is one of the easiest ways to add a splash of mulberry to your home. Pick or buy flowers in this shade. Get some lavenders, orchids or purple hyacinth to accent your coffee table or your console tables.
Introduce plenty of highlights
Touches of copper, brass and gold will give mulberry a sophisticated feel. Keep an eye out for inspiration in boutique hotels, bars and restaurants, as mulberry and metallics are often in these places.
Be brave and go for it
This rich shade of purple works best when you really go for it, so use it for walls, floorings and furniture. It creates a lovey inviting space that’s just right for cosy nights at your home.

Opt for plenty of texture
Silk, velvet and chenille all work well in shades of mulberry, because they’re luxurious, touch-me-now fabrics; while mohair and wood help to add to the hibernation feeling.
A new take
Try pairing mulberry with orange or coral. Purple and orangey-red shades are next to each other on the colour wheel, so they really do work well together. You can also pair your mulberries with shades of warm purple and burgundy on a background of neutrals.
Think hero
If you’re wary of painting or wallpapering an entire wall in this colour, then how about trying a statement chair? There are plenty of shapely mulberry ones out there that would work in a neutral or grey room. Or, try mulberry-coloured towels in the bathroom.
