Hlasela Tactical strengthens crime-fighting with new air wing
A new helicopter equipped with advanced technology will help Hlasela Tactical and SAPS respond faster to serious crime across the East Rand.

Hlasela Tactical has acquired its first helicopter to strengthen its fight against criminal activity.
Acknowledging that Kempton Park and the greater East Rand are crime hotspots, the organisation said the introduction of the helicopter will improve community safety and provide additional support to SAPS operations.

The aircraft will be deployed in high-crime situations, including cash-in-transit heists, illegal mining activities such as zama zamas, and other serious offences.

Working alongside the police, the new air wing is expected to assist officials in reaching crime scenes more quickly and improving the chances of apprehending suspects.
Hlasela Tactical director Jacques Olivier outlined the advanced technology the helicopter will be equipped with, saying it will enhance operational capacity in the region.
“We will add thermal imaging and night vision technologies for robberies where criminals run into fields so they can still be traced, as well as still be able to catch criminals even if they commit crimes during the night time,” Olivier said.
He added that the organisation is determined to strengthen law enforcement efforts across the region.
