The body of a homeless man believed to be in his late 30s was found in a veld near Tungsten Road and Foundry Street in Isando on Friday.
“Police were called to the scene where the body had been found at about 8am. He had several bruises on his stomach,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesman.
According to Mtshali they also found a gaping wound on his head which suggested he was hit with a hard object. However, the cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
The man was wearing a blue overall top, khaki trousers and brown canvass shoes.
