KEMPTON Park SAPS members refused a bribe from a Nigerian man who was arrested for public indecency and urinating in public in the early hours of Monday morning.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Jethro Mtshali, the officers spotted the man while patrolling on Kempton Road.
“The suspect was found urinating in the middle of the street and he was approached by Constables Xaba and Leshaba who attempted to apprehend him. After a struggle and assistance from back up, they managed to get him into the back of a police van.
“When they arrived at the station, the suspect took out his wallet and handed over R700 to Const Xaba in an attempt to bribe him,” he said.
The officer refused and the suspect will now face a bribery charge along with the two other charges.
