THREE allegedly drug dealers were nabbed in two quiet suburbs of the city on Tuesday night.
According to Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, officers were doing routine patrols when the arrests in two separate incidents were made. The first arrest took place at around 5pm and the second just before 8pm.
A lone man in a VW Polo sedan was seen driving aimlessly in Jakaranda Street in Kempton Park ext 2. He was approached and on searching him, metro police found 39 packets of cat with the estimated street value of R6 000. The 39-year-old Nigerian was detained at Kempton Park Police Station after being charged with possession and dealing in an illicit substance.
At around 7.30pm in Highveld Road, two occupants of a VW Jetta were confronted and the metro police found them in possession of 20 packets of crack cocaine (R8 000), 56 packets of crystal meth (R12 000), 65 grams of cat in 13 packets (R10 000) as well as 26x ecstasy tablets (R5 000).
The two Nigerian suspects, who are in their early forties, were also charged at Kempton Park Police Station for possession and dealing in drugs.
