A 26-year-old security officer of Fidelity Guards is in a critical condition in Arwyp Medical Centre after he was shot in the head by a robber during an armed robbery at Kempton Square on Wednesday.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Jethro Mtshali, the security officer was carrying two cases of money at about 10.30am leaving a clothing retailer in the shopping centre.
“He was approached by three men, one of whom was armed, and was shot in the head. The men took the cases containing an undisclosed amount of money and his firearm before leaving the scene,” said Mtshali.
No arrests were made.
