A 26-year-old security officer of Fidelity Security died in hospital last week Thursday after he was shot in the head during an armed robbery in Kempton Square the previous day.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Jethro Mtshali, the security officer was carrying two cases of money at about 10.30am, leaving a clothing retailer in the shopping centre.
“He was approached by three men, one of whom was armed, and was shot in the head.
The men took the cases containing an undisclosed amount of money and his firearm before leaving the scene,” said Mtshali.
No arrests have been made.
