RESIDENTIAL robberies are still sky high in Kempton Park.
According to police crime statistics for April 2012 to March 2013, 1 004 burglaries at homes occurred in the Norkem Park policing area during this period, compared to 713 the previous year.
Kempton Park SAPS had 810 residential burglaries, compared to 694 last year and Sebenza SAPS 218, compared to 160.
Robberies at residential premises reported at Kempton Park SAPS were 70 cases compared to last year’s 64.
Norkem Park had 79 compared to 77 last year, and Sebenza 28, compared to 26.
Other property-related crimes like non-residential burglary, theft out of a vehicle and vehicle theft were also higher.
Although not at all police stations had a decline in theft not mentioned elsewhere, it is still the highest crime statistic at each police station, with 1 606 at Kempton Park SAPS, compared to 1 790 the previous year, 673 at Norkem Park compared to 602 and 422 at Sebenza compared to 421 the previous year.
Attempted murder had slightly risen at Sebenza and Kempton Park police stations, while it declined at Norkem Park SAPS. Common assault was down at Kempton Park SAPS and Norkem Park, but increased from 58 to 72 at Sebenza.
Common robbery was up at Kempton Park SAPS with 310 cases opened, compared to 265 the previous year and at Norkem Park it increased from 69 to 77 cases.
Common robbery showed a decline at Sebenza.
More drivers under the influence were arrested. At Kempton Park SAPS there were 345 compared to the 231 of the last year, at Norkem Park 122, compared to 88 and at Sebenza 126, compared to 88.
